The evil plot in question is to have his three sons marry Jacks three daughters. When the plan eventually falls apart he literally TORTURES his children. Like he hangs Blaine and Lance upside down in a dungeon over a LAVA PIT and makes them do CHIN-UPS and throws Frederick into a massive PIT and just LEAVES HIM THERE. He eventually frees Blaine and Lance but only so that he can take them to the Pastel Palace which he is planning to INVADE so he can FORCE the princesses to marry his sons AGAINST THEIR WILL.

Look, Kerrigan's character arc in Brood War was top notch it was S tier it was great I wrote a literal essay about how I do sincerely believe Kerrigan in SC1 + Brood War had a heroic character arc, and I am of course correct, and the canon agrees, BUT WE WILL GET TO THAT,

now initially ofc i was like naw SC2 never happened. Obviously I've softened on that opinion (but saying it never happened is funny. so is acting like everyone is missing the point of Kerrigan except for me. this blog is the space where i get to play up an extremely cocky persona ok)

SC2's general insistence (at least that's my first impression) on treating her zergness like a boring corruption and "ooh Kerrigan was good before but she's evil now" bothers me. like they do this to her instead of, oh I don't know, she was abused and exploited as a child fucking soldier, she latched onto the guy who 'saved' her and was too wrapped up in the exhilaration of having someone who 'cared' about her that she couldn't recognize she was being used as literal fucking bait, and then he LEFT HER TO FUCKING GET EATEN BY ALIENS, and by the grace of fucking god, those aliens saw her value and potential in a way no one else ever could, they elevated her, made her stronger, gave her the means to break off the shackles implanted in her skull (remember the Amerigo mission???), and from that point on, all the anger she'd been harboring from all those years of abuse could run freely, so of fucking course she became impatient and vengeful!

Yes, Kerrigan was extremely destructive, spiteful, cruel,even! But you think someone who's only ever known violence and death and cruelty could ever be anything else? are we so naiive as to imagine a perfectly human Sarah Kerrigan would not become the Queen of Blades Her fatal flaw is wrath, you see how quick she is to anger when she fights Tassadar. To quote the man himself,

she is predictable because of her wrath. In her beginning as the Queen of Blades, she's too consumed by all her fury, by her newfound power that she can and will use to demolish everyone who's wronged her, and she hasn't yet learned the wisdom required to use said power. this is a flaw she overcomes in Brood War, wherein she delays her fury and rage to arrange a temporary alliance, to wait for just the right moment to have her vengeance and crush her enemies.

aaaaaand here's the Wings of Liberty campaign going like "Zerg turned her evil. yeah she's killing and infecting terrans bcs that's what zerg do. we need to redeem her by removing her zergyness."

And by the fucking WAY, the revelations of that xel'naga relic, Zeratul's visions, the insight given by Zurvan of the primal Zerg, all bring such a delicious context to the entire wings of liberty campaign, and they make that campaign good and make everything I complained about earlier just an extra spicy flavoring and a dash of gray to our terran heroes, THEY MADE ME ACTUALLY LIKE RAYNOR???

bcs you know what, fine, perhaps Raynor does see the Queen of Blades as nothing but pure evil, perhaps he does choose to ally with the Dominion to destroy her, that is his human perspective, as someone who loved Kerrigan but knew her so briefly, all he can truly see is the Zerg as he understands them, the mindless living weapon, the infested terrans that beg for death as they seek to tear you limb from limb. We are imperfect, we aren't omniscient, perhaps I should forgive Raynor for his short-sightedness. He cannot concieve of harmony with the zerg because of what he has seen, so of course his dear friend is corrupted, infested, controlled, and he has to free her, and maybe he can make this deal with the devil. From his eyes, this is the best route he can take. He even knows he should not kill her, he knows what she's meant to be, and he has no idea how she'll go from the monster he sees now to the savior of Zeratul's prophecy, so he does what he thinks is best.

and as we see in HotS (and i think also LotV a bit?), Raynor's choice to use the relic was a mistake, it robs the zerg of their salvation and feeds so much energy into Amon's greedy maw... but also, it wasn't a mistake.

See, Kerrigan's temporary severance from the swarm frees her of the influence of Amon on her mind (though I am adamant that her actions have been PRIMARILY motivated by rage and vengeance and spite!), and when she sheds her humanity once more and properly returns to the Swarm, it is in the sacred birthplace of all Zerg, on the planet that obeys the law of nature, where hardship and violence are tools to produce an ever-greater self, and all that she has suffered will become her strength,

I think people that perpetuate the narrative that "nothing happened" between Taylor and John forget that:

1) it logically makes NO sense to "fake" that relationship, and there are multiple aspects of it that cannot be explained away as "platonic" or "professional" (the half of my heart performance is legit insane. You can claim they were just playing stuff up but she was VERY publicly dating Taylor Lautner at the time and just like... though the performance in itself isn't technically suggestive it... feels it. Hey girl, I’ve sent in my two cents to you a couple times. I’ve seen some of what’s gone on the last 2 days and it’s absolutely insane. It’s clear this has gone way too far and even some of the BO crew seems to be aware of it based on their tweets. Kinda hope they actually do something, kinda also think we “must learn to govern ourselves”. Idk man I just feel for the situation now. The Jurassic World Dominion movie that lives in my head:

Dinosaurs invade an Ambiguous National Park. Owen has been hired on to help the park rangers adjust to this/keep people and dinosaur altercations to a minimum. Owen can go be the Dinosaur Cowboy Man we all know he wants to be.

Meanwhile, Claire has rebranded the Dinosaur Protection Group to basically be the dinosaur version of Bear Aware. They still advocate for dinosaur protection but their more public face is teaching people how to live alongside dinosaurs. Claire goes to Maisie’s school and does a Get To Know Your Dinosaurs presentation.

We get a few glimpses of Blue from a distance. She is in the park.

The ambiguous national park is surrounded by farm land, privately owned forest land, and several small towns ranging in size from blink and you miss it to very small.

A Bad Thing Happens that causes conflict between the dinosaurs and humans. Whatever it is Owen blames himself for not having prevented it because he missed some Obvious Detail that led to the bad thing.

Conflict ensues.

The park rangers, the townsfolk, the farmers, the hunters, the park goers, and the rebranded DPG, all draw various lines in the sand. There are three main groups:

The Dinosaurs Should Stay

Each group has various sub factions within, and they are not always what you think they might be. All Dinosaurs Must Go ranges from they are an invasive species to be removed to they are a danger to humans and/or livestock. Some Dinosaurs Must Go mostly doesn’t want predators that may attack humans/livestock but some herbivores are also on the must go list depending on who you ask. The Dinosaurs Should Stay ranges from they should be a protected species to hunting tourism would go through the roof.

Anyway, everyone has their reasons for what they want. Claire and Owen have to deal with the problem that if they win the dinosaurs should stay fight they may have to live with the dinosaurs can stay and be hunted.

There are more glimpses of Blue in the park. This time we find out that our glimpses are via Owen’s binoculars. He knows she’s in the park but keeps it quiet because he knows telling people a raptor is in the park is just going to make people scared. He hasn’t sited her anywhere near people anyway so no big deal, right?

The Ambiguous National Park becomes the iconic symbol of what the fuck do we do with the dinosaurs? A media circus ensues.

For reasons Alan, Ellie, and Ian can come and be expert witnesses who come down on various sides of the debate. Also, Dr. Wu shows up because I want him to.

Maisie mostly does kid stuff without the whole genetic disease storyline, she’s just a regular clone girl doing regular clone girl stuff, like taking care of injured dinosaurs. Also, she goes to school and makes friends and enemies and campaigns for dinosaur rights.

There are a bunch of town hall style debates scattered throughout various lowkey action sequences which are mostly Owen and the townsfolk deal with dinosaurs in unusual places. Once it is Maisie and the school children deal with dinosaurs in unusual places.

We find out that the Bad Thing happened because of Evil Dinosaur Poachers! People then change some of their arguments to see? the dinosaurs didn’t do the bad thing while others point out that if they have dinosaurs here more Evil Poachers will come.

Evil Poachers are arrested but in the chaos of their arrest it becomes publicly known that a) Blue is in the park and b) that Owen knew and never told anyone. The Evil Poachers are not super relevant to the plot after this. No insane global kidnapping plot happens. What becomes relevant to the plot is that Owen’s expert status is called into question since he was hiding information about a dangerous dinosaur. He’s promptly uninvited to the debates though he keeps his job by virtue of being Dinosaur Cowboy Man. Although he loses the trust of some of the townsfolk.

Claire has an awkward conversation with him about how he should have said something because now her expert status is also being called into question. They kind of really/fake break up for a bit so that Claire’s reputation and by extension the Dinosaur Protection Group don’t go down in flames with Owen.

They don’t really break up.

They still have a dramatic getting back together sequence.

The story ends with the Dinosaurs Should Stay side winning but with some stipulations about safety and a promise of a multi year study on whether hunting is an option. There is a sizable chunk of townsfolk who are not happy about this for a variety of reasons. Owen and Claire have to get ready to start a new fight for dinosaur safety in the long term. The dinosaurs go on doing dinosaur things in the Ambiguous National Park.

Bellamy Is The Abusive One, Not Octavia: A Rant/Meta

There’s two main “reasons” that people give when they claim that Octavia is abusive. That she beats up Bellamy after Lincoln’s murder, and that she has him put in The Fighting Pits.

Let’s start with the old discourse; Bellamy did get Lincoln killed, not Octavia. Bellamy is the person who got Pike into power, the person who stood by him even after seeing + being told multiple times by people he supposedly cares about that Pike was instituting facism and going to get everyone killed. Bellamy knowingly decided to be a Nazi even though he had other options and was aware of them. And, no, Nazi is not an exaggeration, Bellamy was 100% willing to wipe out an entire race just for being that race including putting them in concentration camp-like conditions to die.

Octavia is not at fault just because she didn’t accept Bellamy’s last minute “help”, he had given her absolutely no reason to trust him so it’s not her fault she didn’t. If my brother was fhe right-hand man of a fascist leader then I wouldn’t have trusted him that after he belittled my concerns several times and stopped me from escaping, he’ll get my boyfriend out of the camp he put him in to begin with. Octavia had no obligation to trust Bellamy after he did everything in his power to destroy her trust.

So, yes, Octavia beats up Bellamy. If I had just saw and heard the love of my life be murdered at the hands of the man that my own brother knowingly put in power then I probably would beat him up to. Especially if my brother had already been abusing me my whole life.

Side note: Let me also just point out that Bellamy was never adequately redeemed for that whole being a Nazi thing, everyone just pretended it never happened. Octavia herself even calls him out “You didn’t turn on Pike because you thought what he was doing to the grounders was wrong.” and he AGREES. Bellamy 👏 never 👏 earned 👏 redemption, because men in this show don’t need to be held accountable for their actions while women (mainly Octavia and Clarke) have to supplicate themselves to men and be dragged through the dirt mercilessly for every wrong breath they take.

The Fighting Pit issue is an even weaker example because Octavia didn’t put Bellamy in there because she was angry or wanted to (although she had every right to be) she did it because Bellamy publicly broke several laws and she would have completely undermined her own authority (and given special treatment, making her a poor leader) if she let him get away with treason, child endangerment, murder, and attempted assassination. Bellamy getting put in the fighting pit was a consequence of his own actions, one that he was well aware of. Octavia wasn’t being abusive, she was being a fair leader.

Now that that BS is out of the way, here’s a list of why Bellamy is abusive to Octavia:

1.) Bellamy has had all of the power in their relationship from day one. Octavia was literally trapped in a room and only able to interact with two people for sixteen years, Bellamy came and went as he pleased. Octavia was essentially a captive, she couldn’t have possibly been more powerless during the entire time their relationship was developing. Then when they get on the ground, Bellamy is almost instantly put in a position of power which he uses to isolate and control Octavia. There’s also the age difference, I think a lot of people forget that Bellamy is way older than all the other Skaikru. Bellamy is 23 at the start of the show and everyone else is under 18 (except Raven is 18). So, we’re talking about a barely 17-year-old girl, one who grew up extremely isolated so is even more immature than most kids her age, and a 23-year-old man who lived most of his life relatively normally.

The power difference entirely favors Bellamy. Octavia has no power over him at all pre-Blodreina (which we’ll get to that) so the idea that she could possibly abuse Bellamy is pretty absurd. Abuse is a habitual pattern of controlling and belittling behavior by someone with more (actual or perceived) power over another, Octavia had no power over Bellamy at all; Bellamy had an insane amount of power over her that he constantly abuses to isolate and control her.

2.) Bellamy supposedly goes to the ground to “protect” Octavia but his means of doing so are abusive and controlling. In season 1 alone; Bellamy uses physical intimidation and manhandling against Octavia several times, he terrorizes a harmless teenager (remember how he’s a grown ass adult? Yikes...) to keep him away from Octavia who was enjoying his company, then he tortures a man in front of her while she begs him to stop because he doesn’t care about her opinions (more in 4) and he’s the leader of The 100 so he can.

3.) The whole “my sister, my responsibility” thing that everyone thinks is so cute? Yeah, that’s emotional abuse. A figure of authority repeating to a child that they are a burden for existing is disgusting and so, so harmful. That phrase is a reinforcement of the more vicious things Bellamy has said “Mom was floated for having you, she’s dead because you’re alive!” and “My life ended the day you were born!”

4.) Bellamy is constantly belittling, dismissing, and patronizing all of Octavia’s opinions and identity.

“You turned this place into a story from your childhood. I mean, the red queen? It’s a joke.”

I’m not saying that Blodreina was a positive identity for Octavia, but it was something she was forced (remember, she didn’t seek power like Bellamy and Clarke did) to become to survive. Octavia was a mentally ill teenage girl with very limited exposure to the world who has never had any power in her entire life, and suddenly she was responsible for saving the human race. How fucking dare Bellamy mock her for basing her leadership off of stories WHAT THE HELL ELSE WOULD SHE BASE IT OF OFF???

Bellamy had a job and a life on The Arc, Octavia never left her room and had no way of seeing the outside world except through stories. She has literally no reference for ruling, or anything else, except those stories and her brief time with the Grounders. Fuck you and your privilege, Bellamy.

On top of that, Octavia actually did save the human race. That “joke” kept humanity alive.

“It is time to stop playing Grounder before you get yourself hurt.”

Yes, how dare she identify with the only people who have ever accepted her and treated her like a human being. How about you stop “playing” Nazi before you get us everyone killed. Seriously, Octavia is not allowed to disagree with Bellamy without him grabbing her arm and talking down to her like she’s a toddler throwing a tantrum.

5.) As soon as Octavia is in a position of power, one she didn’t even ask for, Bellamy’s abuse gets progressively crueler because he’s trying to regain control. He starts actively using Octavia’s mental illness against her and literally suicide baits her several times.

There is NO excuse. None at all. To tell someone who is severely mentally ill, traumatized, and an active suicide risk that “I wish you were dead” and “you’re already dead”. Trying to push someone to suicide and using someone’s mental illness to hurt them, let alone your own sister, is one of the most evil things you can do. The fact that so much of the fandom ignores this genuinely makes me sick.

Bellamy chooses those words because he knows that is what will hurt Octavia the most and he wants to hurt her. Bellamy has heard Octavia say that she’s already dead when she’s at her lowest points, he knows that those are the words that haunt her and drive her to want to kill herself, and that’s why he uses them as a weapon. Notice that he says them multiple times and at very purposeful times, this is not something he yelled once when he was angry; we see him calmly make the choice to say these things to her several times when he is losing control and wants to break her back down to the helpless little girl who was always happy to see him because of her Stockholm Syndrome.

6.) I think trying to MURDER Octavia THREE FUCKING TIMES deserves its own point. Bellamy poisons Octavia, he suicide baits her and let’s her go through with it (someone else stops her, Bellamy makes no move to), and then he leaves her to die with a lovely extra “My sister is dead” for the road.

7.) Octavia spends most of season 6 groveling and trying to “earn” back Bellamy’s love and we see clearly that “earning” Bellamy’s love means being utterly powerless and subservient. Bellamy loved Octavia when she was a captive little girl but suddenly he can’t produce an ounce of human decency towards her? And don’t give me some “but she’s Blodreina” like Mr. Nazi has any room to judge Octavia for becoming a dictator out of desperation when she didn’t know what else to do and she was forced in a very, very difficult leadership position that she never wanted and all of humanity relied on.

My point is basically that Bellamy’s love is conditional, he holds it over Octavia’s head like a fucking dog treat. He wants “his sister” back but what does that mean? He wants back the scared little girl who couldn’t leave one room and was entirely dependent on him. It’s Octavia having autonomy that Bellamy hates, not her being “evil” because Bellamy is 500x as evil as Octavia and I will die on that hill. You’re telling me that Bellamy of all people is soooo upset that his sister was forced to kill some people in the context of war and keeping humanity alive? As if Bellamy isn’t a mass murderer who has killed way more people for way less. Give me a fucking break. “Octavia is dead” because Bellamy’s victim is dead and he can’t handle that.

But, please, do tell me again how two isolated incidents over six years apart from each other that are both the direct consequences of Bellamy’s autonomous choices make Octavia “eMoTiOnAllY AbUsIvE tO pOoR WitTlE BeLl”.

Every time I watch the end of CQL I decide I want something different. This time it’s this:

So Meng Yao doesn’t kill the Nie captain but leaves the Nie for reasons, saves LXC and goes undercover with the Wen blah blah blah. Sunshot goes the same. WWX still gives his brother his golden core, saves the Wen Remnants, etc.

Meanwhile, JGY is acknowledged by his dad and gets to know his older brother a bit. 

JZX in the meantime has perhaps figured out his shit a little better, realized he doesn’t want to do things the way his father does, adores his wife and new babe, really likes his clever ass new didi. Starts making quiet noises about finding his other half-sibs because he wants not much more than a big family and he figures if there’s one, there’s probably several more. His dad is gross. He is at heart a simple and lonely man.

JGY quickly realizes that no, actually he isn’t quite willing to do whatever it takes to earn his father’s approval? His father is actually a huge power hungry asshole not really any better than WRH, just like. Less insane. Probably. He might… need to die?

He’s not averse to a bit of murder, but he also thinks perhaps he’d rather be useful and appreciated by his brother than powerful at all costs. 

Also, JYL lets him hold the baby whenever he so much as looks longingly at little A-Ling, which is nice. And she also appreciates him and how clever he is. She tells him all the time and asks him for help navigating the viper pit. She seems to... trust him? It’s a new feeling.

Basically JGY goes team “my siblings ” instead of team “me against the world”.

JGS dies mysteriously. What a shame.

JZX takes over as sect leader, cleans house. He’s not here for the backstabbing and machinations. And he’s so happy. He has his very smart wife at his side. She might be a little sickly sometimes but turns out those Yunmeng Jiang are not to be fucked with, esp. when it comes to family.

NMJ shows up like “yo, XY needs to die for his crimes” and JGY and JZX look at each other and go, “yup here you go fam”. XY is publicly executed.

(Somewhere in the countryside, a couple of rogue cultivators somehow accidentally adopt an urchin girl? Yeah, Song Lan’s not sure how it happened either, but she’s fiesty. He likes her.)

JGY becomes his brother’s staunchest defender and advisor, and in return JZX can and will banish anyone who says shit about JGY. (Zixun is the first to go.) (They both listen to JYL, because she’s the best.)

Together, they find MXY and QS and welcome them into the family. JZX is ecstatic! He went from no siblings and an asshole dad to three siblings and no asshole dad! 

So things are pretty good. They missed JL’s one month celebration because whoops JGS died right before, so they do a one year.

Just beforehand, JYL comes to her little brother in law like “look A-Yao, we gotta sort out this shit with my didi. He can’t keep living on a mountain of corpses with a bunch of old people, a doctor, a zombie, and a baby. Help me, pls.”

And JGY is like “how do u know, everyone says he’s got an army.” He’s not evil but he is cautious. There are plenty of rumors still, even if JGS isn’t the one starting them.

And JYL is like here, and hands over the increasingly desperate letters from JC she’s been getting, cuz JC has visited a couple times and cannot convince WWX to leave w/o the Wen but clearly they’re going to starve.

So it comes out that JGS was even more full of shit than everyone thought. JYL and JGY go to her hubs and JZX is like “wtf dude no that’s super not cool” and they take a small contingent of mixed Jin who are now decent people and Jiang so WWX doesn’t freak out, and JC goes, and JYL insists on going and taking A-Ling, because she knows if WWX sees her and the baby he’ll know that it’s not a war party and won’t come out swinging.

Along the way LWJ shows up, because chaos (it’s early for that but shhhhh), and everyone is like “sure, whatever”.

WWX is waiting at the barrier with a buncha black mist swirling around him like “these motherfuckers are finally trying me” right up until he sees his didi, his zhiji, his shijie with his nephew and her hubs at the font of the small contingent, and then he more or less breaks down crying. It ends up being a nice reunion. They all troop up to the camp, where everyone is horrified and the Wen are like “join us for dinner. We have radish soup” and A-Yuan is clinging to his Xian-gege and his rich-gege and then insisting upon meeting the baby. He gets to give A-Ling the bracelet that he made for him.

JGY is lowkey like “sure am glad I killed my dad, he super deserved it.”

JYL is like “sure am glad my brother in law killed my father in law, he super deserved it.”

JZX is like “sure am glad my dad died under mysterious circumstances i am not thinking about and that my didi is awesome and likes me.”

LWJ and WWX circle each other a while after things are settled. The Wen have moved down to some land around Yiling and are starting to thrive. WQ and WN have more or less been absorbed into the Jiang, WWX is back home and bickering with his brother. 

Wen Qing wants to throttle them both.

A-Yuan is with WWX and doing great. He already considers A-Ling his cousin.

LWJ eventually writes to JYL about WWX like “pls help, ur brother is an oblivious dumbass” and JYL goes to her brother in law like “how do you feel about matchmaking?”

So they wrangle LWJ and WWX together.

Along the way JYL sees the way JGY looks at LXC and NMJ and then happens to catch NHS’s eye and they come to a swift and silent agreement regarding that situation, which is also resolved to everyone’s satisfaction and basically JGY gets to spend the rest of his life being useful and appreciated with a large family and getting dicked down on the regular by two sect leaders the end.

He's upped his "terrible person" status from when he was young, though he has learned to shut his mouth when acting good would help him more easily get his way. He plays nice a lot of the time. If you cross him, watch out, he's just as brutal as ever in his vengeance plans.

Eric has a hard time grasping other people's emotions, but is good at acting and pretending to experience empathy from years of practice and observation. He has no morals or conscience, always only looking to what benefits himself. Do not show weakness if you're not one of his friends/family. They and his cats are the only things he seems to actually care about.

===History of Sexual Abuse and Views on Sex:===

Eric has a very large history of sexual abuse and due to his experiences he views sex less as an act of intimacy and more one of humiliation for the receiving party. He will consent to sexual acts, but he actively refuses to be dominated and often will fall into his pattern of being vicious and taunting when allowed to dominate. He views oral sex especially as degrading and humiliating for the giving party and essentially as an act of power from the receiving party. He would have to be very, very close to someone and trust them completely to do anything he views as degrading for them.

===History:===

Eric stayed on generally the same path through middle and high school as he did in elementary school. His mom coddles and enables his behavior. He's pretty smart, but doesn't use it on school as much as things that actually matter to him personally. He's primarily used his expertise in cheating to get through his classes. He was offered AP classes but rapidly turned them down on the grounds that he didn't want to deal with more work than he has to. He tried joining the school paper but got kicked off for speaking his mind....way too much. He did play football throughout high school, often winning games by getting the other team to foul out for trying to deck him.

His mother married Clyde's father in the boys's Sophomore year of High School, dragging Eric out of his childhood home and into the Donovan's. He was really pissed about that for a good while, and kept the old Cartman house on the market by constantly fucking over or traumatizing anyone that tried to buy it. He and Clyde butted heads a lot first, but eventually learned to tolerate and maybe even like each other.

===Family:===

Clyde Donovan: Step-Brother. Eric thinks he's a dumbass, but he got attached after their parents got married- even though you'd be hard pressed to get him to admit it. Eric's loyal, and that means he'll fuck you up if you mess with anyone he cares about. Clyde's on that list.

Liane Donovan (Cartman): Mother. He loves his mom a lot. She's a huge enabler and lets him get away with everything even if she did some fucked up shit to him when he was really little. (S01E05)

Jack Tenorman: Father. Patricide. Eric knows pretty much nothing about him aside from that he was a ginger and a Denver Bronco and he's perfectly content to keep it that way.

Roger Donovan: Step-Father. Eric's generally just impressed with Roger's overall existence. He was pissed at him for years for stealing his mom, and for trying to actually "dad" at him. He just kind of tolerates him for his mom and Clyde's sake. They're the only reason he hasn't taught the man a lesson for his attempts at discipline.

Other:

- Eyes are naturally almost-black brown but he had that donor-transplant from dead Kenny when he was eight so now he's got Kenny's eyes. One is Kenny's blue and the other turned back to brown after Kenny revived for some reason?? He can still see fine out of both. Odd. (S03E03)

- Due to having Kenny's eyes, Cartman is immune to Kenny's curse's amnesia effect. (S05E06)

- Insanely intelligent. Emphasis on insane.

- Loves literally anything with caffeine, especially tea and coffee and mountain dew.

- Openly gay. The movie Teeth was his breaking point. Came out of the closet in his junior year of high school. If you wanna really piss him off just say "Teeth". He hates it.

- Cats are his deepest weakness and pretty much one of the very few things he cares about besides himself. (S12E03)

- Still gives absolutely zero fucks about openly and publicly dressing up as a girl when a situation calls for it.

- Pretty strong when he feels like it from his football days.

- Great cook, if you want a very delicious heart-attack

- Tested out of language classes due to his self-taught fluency in Spanish and has a supernatural fluency in R'lyehian due to Cthulhu connection. He also knows conversational German, French, Dutch, and Mongolian. Currently learning Chinese and Portuguese.

- Joined band for exactly one week. Just long enough to get his mom to buy him a trombone and to learn how to do the WOMP WOMP WOOOOMP to mock people.

- Self-taught skills in playing the Pan Flute(S12E10), Piano(S07E09), Harmonica(S13E11), Violin(S08E09), Bass Drum(S21E07), and Guitar(S3E11).

-Has attained some weird religious balance between his own warped version of Catholicism and worshiping Cthulhu. (S14E12)

- Nose is a little crooked from being busted so many times (S12E09 and S19E01).

- Draws a lot and is a pretty good artist when he actually tries.

- Good at singing.

- Quit the California School for the Deaf after 10 year - Moved to Los Angeles - Had 22 [rotating] roommates in my one bedroom apt (just in the first year) - Got an agent, a manager, auditioned and started booking work as a Hollywood actor (Even recorded an original pop song in a major studio) - Got my certification and started working full time as an ASL interpreter. - Delivered my first sermon and became a preacher - Started a non-profit ministry - Rediscovered keto (formerly my version of “atkins”) and lost 100 lbs. - Got a boyfriend (my first [long term] relationship) - Met my 20+ year #1 favorite music artist: Celine Dion - Met many celebrities and influential people that I have always respected and admired and even became close friends with a couple of them. - Launched a video production ministry and started creating documentaries, short films, music videos, and featurettes of my own. - Officiated 2 marriage ceremonies - Got over my fear of flying - Tried mangos for the first time. I like them.

Life was good at the end of 2009. I was with my friends A LOT whom were (and still are) my family. I had just taught my first year of Bible Study and I was working at a job I really enjoyed… well, somewhat.

Now, I have never talked about this publicly before, but the school for the deaf taught me a lot in the 10 years I worked there to that point. I became involved because I loved to sign so much, I was really gifted at it, and I desperately wanted to help people (interpret). I wasn’t always greeted in the community with the same level of openness unfortunately. I was surrounded by very strong personalities and I was targeted a lot by the staff that were all much older than me. I was reminded of my place constantly. Comments about my youth, my “flamboyant” personality, and my being hearing (not deaf) would constantly come up as a negative. It became a hard place to work at. After a couple years of tolerating it, it began to wear on my health and I had to go on medication for anxiety. Staff members would brag to one another about how much they could put me through hoping I would quit or break. I was imitated, mocked, and teased endlessly. I was accused of “stealing” sign language (“their” language) for profit. I was not taken seriously by some and ignored entirely by others. One time, I was even removed from a Valentine’s Day party because the teacher didn’t want me to have a good time with the other staff and students knowing I bought them all small gifts with my own money. I was escorted by the teacher of the classroom to a printing room far across the other end of campus to make unnecessary copies of random books (“busy work”). She bragged about it later to our mutual supervisor. 

“You should have seen what I did to Gilbert earlier today. I got him so good! You should have seen the look on his face. Ugh! I don’t like him! He’s always so happy”.

My supervisor, whom I revered as a mentor, scolded her,

“You’re evil. What has he ever done to you?”,

to which the teacher replied,

“Nothing except that others, like you, like him. I just want to make sure he knows that I don’t like him and I don’t have to.”

It was classic bullying, by *staff*. I had come to learn that most people want what they perceive as “validation” and relevance so intensely that they are willing to take or create it however they can, especially at the expense of others… in whatever little corner of the world they are currently in.  At CSDF, specifically, there was a history of culture clashing from the deaf towards the hearing so a very tangible hostility was constantly felt by hearing staff members, even if they only meant to contribute and serve the community. It was super politically charged and I didn’t have the stomach to fight it everyday just to stay kind and happy in my daily interactions with other staff. I felt like I was in a pressure cooker and there was no place to come up for air. I knew I had to leave, or else it would make me just as bitter and jaded as they all were. I didn’t know how I was going to do that, but just around the corner, was my ticket to exceedingly do so. I was about to be free.

Four years after competing in American Idol (2006), I was contacted at the beginning of 2010 by the President of Nova Talent International: Tammi Smith. She knew of my singing and wanted me to join Team USA and compete in the World Championships of Performing Arts. Several months later, I was in Hollywood, CA, amongst 50 other American performers and 52 other countries all with their own teams of talented contestants. I won 5 silver medals, made the semi-finals of the competition, and met my first talent manager and acting coach. It was then that I called my boss and gave my notice at the school. Within 3 short weeks, I was living in the city of angels, out of my car, with only my clothes, my cats, and a massive amount of faith. It was the boldest move I have ever done in my life.

It took me a month to book my first commercial and get my own apartment. I had spent much of that initial time with my good friend Kiki who took me off the Inglewood streets and let me crash on her couch while I auditioned and made my daily rounds with agents and scouts. It was hectic and her hospitality saved my life. I love you, Kiki! Thank you so much!

I fell in love with the Los Angeles Dream Center and its pastor Matthew Barnett on my very first visit. I was scared because I didn’t want to invest into a Church community if the Pastor was going to end up speaking terrible things against the LGBT community like I had previously experienced in the Bay Area. I hadn’t had a home Church like this, where I felt welcomed and celebrated and was able to serve so openly. I became great friends with Pastor Matthew and became the Church’s sign language interpreter and even starred as a lead in their Christmas play. It was all so magical. I felt special, chosen, and like I was starting to cause real growth in overly conservative circles. I started close friendships with so many of the young adults that attended there (my age group). It was like I stumbled into a dream. It wasn’t long, however, before I realized I was the butt of so many jokes behind my back with my new “Christian” friends when I wasn’t around. I wasn’t aware that I was the only openly gay attendee at the Church. The support that I received to my face was diminished by the comments made about me when I was gone. “When will Gilbert stop being so rebellious and learn that being gay is a choice, and he can simply choose out of that lifestyle?” ”Gilbert wants to start a bible study? How can we trust him? He thinks it’s okay to be gay. Yeah, I don’t trust that. I will not be attending.” “I will never attend Gilbert’s wedding if he marries a man. That’s an abomination.” I began to distance myself from the very people that I thought were my new friends.

Soon even, after that.. I stumbled upon a subculture at the Church that I had never even considered before… closeted gay Christian men! It was such a phenomenon to me, but they had their own community. I was not raised Christian so I didn’t know that in some circles, you can be as flamboyantly gay and “out” as you want as long as you don’t identify with the word “gay” or wholly accept your attraction to other men. I found myself running in circles of gay men that were just as gay as me (and in some cases WAAAYY “gayer”) but they would never talk about it. In fact, they would go immediately silent when I would discuss my desire to date Zac Effron or the guy from the Betty Crocker potato commercial. I would be confronted with “Gilbert, you have to not feed that. That’s an attack on your identity by “the enemy” (meaning the devil). “You’re not gay. You’re straight. You just have to keep speaking it over yourself until you feel its truth.”

I was so confused because I thought that being a Christian meant you had to live openly and honestly and it was *profoundly* obvious that none of us liked women. For some in the community, they would still even date girls and would go through the charade of pretending to be into them hoping that their attractions would be “corrected” and change one glorious day. It grieved me to see all these girls that thought they were dating the holiest boys around because they refused to touch them. The girlfriends did not want to accept or even see that their boyfriends were refusing to touch them only because they would rather be touching each other instead of the girls. Often they even would. I can’t tell  you how many times we would be hanging out and things would become so intensely homoerotic, that it would even make me uncomfortable. That was the secret though… they could “act gay” and indulge in that behavior in private because they were able to “release” with one another without acknowledging the constant elephant in the room. It was a level of delusion that I just couldn’t get into. I separated from all individuals within that community...  with the exception of one. The truth is, I had fallen deeply in love with one of them. He and I had insane chemistry... and I remained in that hopelessly romantic place with him... for 6 solid years.

For 6 years, I waited for this young man to wake up and understand it was okay to be both gay and Christian. I wanted him to be free and hoped that we could be together, officially. He never made that journey though. In fact, he confessed that was too afraid of what others thought and what his family would think and feel. His parents were famous ministers and he put his entire worth and value on his and their reputation. We had long talks about it, and hard conversations about our mutual attractions to one another. (He didn’t trust himself to sleep over at my apartment). Because I was the only one who was willing to acknowledge that I was gay, I was in an impossible situation.  The desire and weight of making the first romantic move was on me, full force, but as a friend, I also wanted to respect his “attempted” orientation as a “straight” man. The situation put us both in a constant stalemate.

Like most instances of unrequited love, or being stuck in “friendsville”, I couldn’t move forward because I was blinded by what could be, right in front of me. I was also plagued with insecurities stemming from our dynamic. “Was I not good enough to come out for?” “Was I not attractive enough to push this relationship past ‘friends’ into something more?” were my constant thoughts. Most importantly, I attributed my waiting for him to God. I wanted to do this God’s way and thought that waiting was achieving that. Love is “long suffering” and “about the other person��� I would tell myself, I would quote Galatians 6:9 over myself and my situation everyday hoping God would reward me and allow this guy to “get it” and go on a journey that would end with him in my arms… but it never happened. I had enough at the close of 2016 and decided to kick myself out of friendsville. After Church one day, he walked me towards my car and half way there, I stopped him. I took him to a secluded corner, looked him dead in the eye, and asked him out on our first official “date”. He smiled and looked intrigued. He told me that he would consider it. I asked him to consider it himself and to not discuss it with the “non-affirming” people in his life that believed being gay was wrong. He agreed but then broke his promise later that day when he asked three different people what they think he should do. (I wanted this to be a decision he made, alone, for the first time, for him.) He came back very angry. He said that he now saw this all as a betrayal to our 6 year friendship and I had to accept that. I was was now the bad guy. It was my worst fear, but at that time I didn’t care. It was the key to my sanity. I had to realize that he was living a life for the approval of others… not himself. A relationship wouldn’t have worked for us that way. He was mad that I wouldn’t continue the charade anymore of staying in the “undefined” place we were always in. It was the hardest I grieved and the hardest path back to healing I had ever had to take. The only other time I cried that hard and that often in the weeks that followed was when my grandmother died. A broken heart does feel like a death, because it is. The harder part was feeling like I had to forgive God for never giving me what I waited 6 years for, and yes, I felt like He was the one that asked me to wait. It was a difficult journey. I was hurt and angry with God but that had to process quickly. I was still a minister and the ministry was counting on me to walk out what I had always taught them to.

The other big journey during this decade was not just discovering the Gay Christian community, but becoming an established leader in it and starting my own ministry.

I didn’t know what I was in for. It has been the most fulfilling journey and also the most challenging. I had thought gay Christian ministry was gonna be rainbows, unicorns, pizza, and movie nights while we all discussed how great Jesus was… and boy was I wrong. No matter how much I wanted to avoid it, politics kept coming up… government and “Church” politics. It was something I still have to get used to. I also met the combative side of people that can be so vocal about what they want from me, that they are willing to act out in unbelievable and often dangerous ways to try and force me to give it to them. I wasn’t prepared for that, and I faced it often (and still do).

Also, I originally believed that it was only the non-affirming world that didn’t understand me, personally and my perspective on life and faith, but I must admit that the times I have felt the most misunderstood, isolated, and alienated in my life was by my very own gay Christian community. I still love ministry and what I do, and it is still the place that I feel I do the most good, but the journey has been far from a walk in the park.

Since 2010, I have had an unusual amount of Judases in my life. My own talent manager (and close friend) went after my former roommate (whom I had strong feelings for) and he moved him into his yacht when I was at work. I came home to an empty apartment. They thought it would be fun to call me on speaker phone and brag about their new affair. I lost a manager, and roommate and gained a broken heart all in one horrific night. My anxiety attack was so bad that night, I thought I was going to die and nearly called 911. My second talent manager was no better. He moved a younger guy in with me from the UK so that he could have “sexual access” to him whenever he wanted. At first, he told me it was because he was a fellow actor, but once he later confessed his true motive, I never let him in my house again and protected my roommate (whom had become a close friend) at all costs.

In 2014, I had a ministry partner and best friend who tried to steal the ministry from under me and was collecting people behind my back to start his own Church. He was only moderately successful, and then when his Church launched, he burned his bridge with every single person that left me for him in a matter of days. I knew God would justify me, but it still hurt. During this time, one of my absolute closest and most trusted friends started sending homemade Snapchat porn to the members of the ministry behind my back. I had just helped him patch up things with his fiance (another Phoenix member) after he was caught by multiple members having an affair. And then in 2017, one of my closest friends whom had seen all the other stuff unfold, suffered a stroke and during his healing, began to actually self destruct. He turned on me and started pursuing very young members in our ministry, confessing to them that he enjoyed that they looked underage because that’s what he was sexually attracted to. I dealt with all of this at the time of being dumped by my boyfriend who I caught texting his female ex. Later, I found out that he had lied to me about his feelings towards her and how often they were in contact and were even still seeing each other. I felt like the world was caving in on me. The members I was pouring into the most were growing increasingly more unreliable and yet more demanding of me and my time. Then, a third leader (also a close friend) informed me that he too was stepping down. I didn’t know if I had it in me to continue anymore. I nearly gave up... but I didn’t. I pushed through, and I am so glad that I did. 

My 7 year journey with ministry has been some of the most exciting and fulfilling years I have ever had, but it has also caused me the most pain. I can see why some ministers leave the call and never return, remaining bitter and jaded. I don’t judge them. My heart goes out to them. We are all human and we all have our limit of what we are able to handle. I will say this though.... if you attend a Church or a Bible Study... be on time. Be reliable, and help out wherever you can. The leader needs all the help that they can get and they are doing this as a sacrifice of love, not obligation. They deserve your constant respect. I’ve learned that you can’t join a walk of life where you pour into the best of people without seeing and experiencing their worst as well, myself included. I have had to grow at an exponential rate to keep up with what I was teaching others. I believe the best teachers are  the ones that lead by example and therefore I want to always deliver a great example.

Being a minister is a path not meant for all, but for those that choose it, what a painfully glorious one it is. I will have to keep you updated as this is still a path I am on, growing every day, still trying to encourage others every day. I can share now that what I have learned the most is boundaries. I have learned that “yes” and “no” wield far more power than I could have ever imagined, and going forward, I intend to wield that power more and more, and hopefully in the future… without guilt.

Meeting Celine Dion earlier this year and watching our interaction go viral on the internet was surreal. It changed me forever by showing me that anything really is possible. We have always heard it in school, but to have evidence that dreams come true can be overwhelming in the most wonderful way. The moment her and I shared is something I have only wished in my heart until that point, nearly certain it would never get to happen. Thanks to God, the joke was on me.

Ending the year with our 6th annual Christmas video, “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” was appropriate on so many levels. The concept of the video is simple, “what makes a Christmas season ‘extraordinary’ is just the people you choose to spend it with.” I think this statement is far more true than just being limited to the holiday season. I think what makes life ‘extraordinary’ is also based off the individuals we meet and the relationships we get to cherish along the way.

My platonic soul mate Theresa Eugenio shared this song with me by the Jonas Brothers earlier both by phone and by her 2019 post and I would like to share it with you with a dedication as well. Going into 2020, I am more guarded with my time and my peace of mind. Yes, I am more of an introvert and far less social, but when I do engage, I do so with intention. I want people to be off their phones, and unveiled with me. I also want people to feel loved and supported by me like never before because I have learned that that truly is what is most important in any interaction.

Thank you to everyone that made this decade one to remember. It is absolutely my most EPIC decade to date. Let’s see if the next 10 years can compete. (SPOILER ALERT: I have a feeling that the next 10 years will not only will be able to compete these past 10, but they will be FAARR better! The best is truly yet to come… not only for me, but for all of us!

Is Social Media Trolling Ever Productive?

Opinions are things that everyone is entitled to have. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about something and that is totally fine, what really matters is how they act upon the opinion. Some people keep them to themselves, some people spread them respectfully while listening to others, some people don’t harmfully act upon them, but some others do. But how far can the harm go? Can it ever be useful?

Over the past decade or so, people have expressed their opinions online more openly and often in much harsher and harmful ways than they would have if it were a personal interaction. That has been defined as trolling, or at other times, cyber-bullying. What’s the difference?

Trolling has been defined as creating discord on the Internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people by posting inflammatory or off-topic messages in an online community. Basically, a social media troll is someone who purposely says something controversial in order to get a rise out of other users. (Hanson J, 2019) Whereas trolls focus on being a nuisance to online communities, cyberbullies target individuals. Rather than post generally inflammatory statements, they post vicious things about a single person with a goal of shaming or intimidation. (Mcdunnigan M, 2019)

After looking at the definitions, is there really any difference between the two? They’re both hateful comments or actions thrown at someone, some are meant to be public and some are meant to be directed to the person to threaten or disrespect them. Either publicly or privately.

Now the question is, could trolling ever be useful? Let’s dig deeper.

A case to look at that kind of reflects both cyberbullying and trolling is a recent one that happened with a fashion blogger called Dina Torkia. She is a Muslim British blogger, born to an Egyptian father and a British mother, who has started blogging 10 years ago on YouTube. She was a full-time hijabi and started off her blogging career as one. She was exploring modest fashion and her main drive was to showcase how there’s more to hijabi fashion than ugly baggy clothes, and that it can be classy and there’s so much room for style and exploration. (Barr S, 2018)

With time, she started feeling differently about her headscarf and decided to take it off after wearing it for 20 years. The backlash she got was insane. She got cyberbullied by so many of her followers through her DMS and comments section on Instagram and YouTube and trolled by several “Muslim” channels on YouTube. Claiming that they are trying to expose her, or make sense of her decision, or claim things she never said just to stir up drama and evidently get more views and attention since she’s one of the top Muslim YouTubers with the most views. They basically added gas to the fire for the sake of their own exposure, which brought so much hate towards her than what already existed. (Nabbout M, 2019)

People’s reactions were inexplicable, and unjustifiable, and had no relation whatsoever with what Islam really is or what it preaches in any way. Modesty can be practiced in a thousand and one ways; her headscarf was only one of them. And while many people claimed that she was selling herself and her modesty, that she did it all for the money. Their actions if anything were the most immodest in this scenario.

She later posted a 47 minute long video called “The Bad, The Worse and The Ugly”. It was a video of her reading all the terrible hurtful comments people left on her videos after she posted her first photo and video online without her headscarf, and particularly increased after the video posted by the “Muslim” YouTube channel. It was a painful example of how disgusting humans can get because they’re hiding behind a screen. It was showing the true colors of certain people and how in no way they represent the modesty they’re defending nor the Islam they preach. It was an eye-opener. (Prideaux S, 2019)

It would raise a lot of questions. Related to societies, their double standards, their actual motivation for support, their harshness, their understanding of Islam and modesty and of course, how bad trolling and cyberbullying can get for something so... small. It’s just a piece of cloth on somebody’s head, it’s their relationship with God and their own journey. How can such an innocent act result in so much hate and pain for her and her family? How is that ethical?

On the flip side, there’s another case that has struck much debate in the Egyptian society recently, and it is one that involves the football player Amr Warda. He was supposed to be part of the national team during the African cup of nations. He DMed a model through her story in a flirty manner and she exposed him for doing so because it was quite shocking since he’s not only in a position where he’s not supposed to be doing that but also should be focused on the mission he’s on for his own country’s sake. When she exposed him, people started spreading a lot of hate about him. A lot of others were defending him. There was even a hashtag that was made to support him because some Egyptians, which were particularly young men his age, thought what he was doing was normal. And that girls were making a big deal out of it; she was in fact “happy” she got that message that’s why she was “showing it off”. And so much more cr*p.(Douihech M, 2019)

More girls started exposing him, because they felt the need to show his true colors and that he does not deserve the support he’s getting. They even shared some voice notes of him forcing himself on some girls to come to his hotel room, and him getting angry and offended when they declined his offer. Sadly, but quite expectedly, the media for the most part were supporting him as well. And asking, ‘why did girls reply to his DMS on Instagram anyway??’. (Khalife L, 2019)

But due to Egypt being put under the spotlight, especially that it was the hosting country for the African Cup of Nations, and the issue getting more attention, the Egyptian national team management felt the need to suspend him from the team for a few games. But brought him back a short while later. Almost, like nothing ever happened. (Douihech M, 2019)

Did he get what he deserved, at least slightly? Yes. Did trolling and exposing him perhaps be of any good in this situation? Probably. He did receive a large amount of hate, which he deserved, but in my opinion, the word for this situation is exposing him and not so much trolling him.

In my opinion, I believe trolling, in general, is a terrible unethical practice that nobody should practice nor participate in and that is simply because it is based on harmful intentions and the motivation to do bad and cause harm. Which are all elements for destruction, and once our intentions as humans are ill or evil, it starts a cycle of chaos? It is the reason behind all the chaos in the world right now. Bad intention. This is why I mentioned Amr Warda's case was more exposing him than trolling him because the core intention was not bad. It was fueled by the desire to expose a bad that he has put in the world, to potentially make him get the punishment he deserves to make other people watch out from him.

 It all lies in good intentions and the core motivation behind doing what you’re doing. Just don’t be bad to people man. Learn to respect them and respectfully say your opinion. Learn to fill yourself with love and have good intentions with your actions. The world would be great. Damn, what a world that would be.

[Review] 穢れなき瑠璃色のローゼンクロイツ

Hey there. Tomorrow I’ll be back with another translation... NOT for this album. I wanted it to be this one because it’s the latest one from 2018 so I waited a while for someone to upload the lyrics or at least the album scans so that I don’t have to translate entirely by ear, but it seems no one will bother doing so which is quite unfortunate. I translated another one of their albums and will upload that instead. Meanwhile let’s take a look at this bad boi.

In 2013, Ariabl’eyes released this,  瑠璃色のローゼンクロイツ (Azure Rozenkreuz), their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is 穢れなき薔薇十字 (Untainted Rose Cross), a song so catchy most people probably won’t listen to the lyrics, but they should because it’s not only about a (possible?) fascist bourgeois publicly being burned at the stake but also about her love for her sister and her nation. It’s so good someone else other than me actually translated it years ago. Despite perhaps being Lyse’s favorite album (has it as their twitter header for a long time) and probably their most popular album (if we use google as a measuring tool), Lyse seems to have decided it was not enough. They want more, bigger, and so we got this 2018 album,  穢れなき瑠璃色のローゼンクロイツ (Untainted Azure Rozenkreuz).

The story of the album is that of two sisters. One’s a military leader and sort of a public figure, and the other one is a peasant. There’s an awful lot of nationalism and sisterly love that borders on the incestual (Julienne says even if she’s forced to marry a man she’ll always think only of her sister). Anyway, that never comes to happen because they sort of get killed and their homeland is invaded. Politically it’s kind of a mess isn’t it, despite the slight lesbianism it comes off as sort of conservative, with outsiders being bad guys, and proclaiming how much you love your country even as you’re getting killed. Anyway, the story is obscured by the music, this extended album has 5 solid pieces that wow me (瑠璃色ソワレ, 瑠璃色の姫君, 黒き陰謀, 荊冠の旋律 and of course 穢れなき薔薇十字) three of them being from the original album, and even among the slower songs there’s Symmetric Rose which is pretty awesome.

In videogame terms, this album is an extended remake, though it could’ve just been DLC. While the original has 6 tracks (which are preserved with only slight modifications) this one spans 10 tracks to expand upon the Rozenkreuz universe. Personally, I like all the new tracks, yet I still feel like they don’t really bring anything onto the table. You’ve made the album longer, and added 黒き陰謀 (Black Conspiracy) a song that expands upon the enemy force that destroys our heroines lives, but was an extended version of the album truly necessary? No, not really. Is it bad though?... No, not really. It’s a good album. Personally I would’ve pulled a Nein and given it a happy ending but that’d be a bit too much I guess. But really, if you’re going to release the story all over again, an alternate ending doesn’t sound that crazy in my opinion.

The real question then is, is this the definitive edition? I’m sorry to say this but the answer is a solid no. I say this because of the changes made to the song 穢れなき薔薇十字 (Untainted Rose Cross). While the other tracks from the original are preserved identically (or at least with little to no differences) this one adds a ton of ominous chanting to the background, it’s not awful but I personally feel that the original is much better. This is one of their most popular tracks so it’s really weird that they decided to modify it so much, almost makes you believe they wanted people to still buy the original album. Now that’s a Black Conspiracy for you. You might also decide to look at this as a cashgrab to capitalize on one of their most popular releases, but hey at least they added a few cool new songs. Ultimately this is a Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon type of situation, where the remake is bigger than the original, sure, but it’s still not the definitive edition because the original is better in at least one way (I of course mean Lusamine being absolutely and justifiably insane and evil in SuMo but just a bit insane in USUM, she’s even kind of a good person in that one).

While the original is a solid 7 for me, I think I’ll have to give this one a 6, maybe a light 7 on a good day. Ironic given the word Untainted in its name, might as well call it Slightly Tainted Rozenkreuz, hah.
